Well, it has been a loooooong week for me. I am absolutely thrilled that it’s finally Friday–and it doesn’t bother me one bit that it’s Friday the 13th. I am pretty certain that you can’t go into the weekend with bad luck–especially when your week of “good luck” has consisted of a series of fights between your children and the neighborhood brats, a million pounds of laundry, days filled with the drudge of housework, and a very pricey printer just out of warranty that decides to crap out for good when you need to make about a hundred and ten copies and can’t get even one. I considered having an “Office Space” type of scene with it, but hubby insisted he’ll try to fix it or sell it for parts, so I guess I don’t get to have smashy fun with the hunk of junk.
And yes, I would love to have some cheese with my w(h)ine. I’ll take brie, please, with some pears and apples and olives and crusty bread. Come to think of it, that’s another reason to be happy about the weekend being here. I’ll have the time to trek across town to one or both of the only stores in the city that carry my favorite cheeses and chocolates. Maybe I’ll even pick up a nice bottle of wine to go with the goodies.
I haven’t been up to much other than housework this week, but I did manage to start (and work about ten tiny little rounds) on a new pair of socks in this yummy pink. A grand total of half an hour of crafting this week. I’m a real winner, huh?
Knit Picks Stroll Tonals
In other news, I got to sew on Sunday and haven’t managed to touch my machine since. I made a couple of cute items (yes, this is my opinion and you may think they are butt ugly) on Sunday, but I can’t post the pictures just yet because they’re earmarked for a swap package that won’t post until Monday and I don’t want to spoil the surprise. I also made a barbie dress for Punky’s barbie on Sunday, but that’s not exactly crafting I’m terribly proud of, so it’s not going to feature time here. I despise barbies.
BUT….it’s Friday, and not just any Friday. It’s time for the Friday Night Sew-In and since I lead a very homebody sort of life, I will be spending the evening sewing rather than partying or going to see Brave. Yes, I’m over 12 and the movie in my number 1 must see slot (until Batman releases, that is) is Brave. I still haven’t gotten around to sewing the needle roll I have to send out, but that could have something to do with this hellacious mess that is sort of overtaking my sewing table.
Mess from Hell
And that’s just the table…the shelves are discombobulated thanks to me pulling out stacks of material (which are currently piled on the floor–neatly, but still on the floor) and nearly all the storage bins (also in a giant stack on the floor). At least I have a reason to clean up the mess from Sunday, right? ;)
Anyway, on the list for tonight and the rest of the weekend are a couple of project bags for myself, one needle roll, a couple of mug rugs, and at least five more of my granny square quilt blocks. I only need nine more blocks for the quilt top, so I’m hoping that I can make the grocery shopping a short affair tomorrow and get home to finish them up. I doubt that will happen since we seem to stop here and there while we’re out, but a girl can dream of a finished quilt top, can’t she?
Well, that’s all I’ve got for now. Check back tomorrow to see what I manage to work on tonight for FNSI. If you want to join in, click the link and sign up!
